Drum roll..............this is it, the grand finale, the day when it all comes together and we deliver the end result to Ensena. Deep breath, this is our baby, about to go on public display.
Nervous? a little. Excited? A lot. Mixed feelings? Yes!
It's so great to deliver an end result we are very proud of and feel will accelerate the organisation by several years but it means we have to say goodbye to these marvellous people who have embraced us like family from Day 1.
We arrived at the Ensena office and instead of getting ready to present we were given a surprise breakfast. So special. Not only that we were given a present. A personalised mug.

Full house in the 'Mate' (pronounced marteh) room for our presentation. Tina kicked off and presented the Alumni Journey which was a storyboard describing the emotional journey of an Alumni before our strategy is implemented and their emotional journey after. Surprise, surprise, they are very happy alumni once the transformation has been done.
I then continued with our recommended five year alumni strategy and the structure and processes needed to make it tangible and actionable. We provided a five year transformation roadmap and detailed first year implementation plan along with details for 30 new programs all linked to their overall objectives, with expected impact and measures of success.
Finally Paul dived into the technology roadmap and our recommendations to expand their existing use of Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp plus introducing LinkedIn and a Wiki prototype we developed for content management. All free and easily accessible software, very important for an NGO.
The end result, a grateful CEO, a team fully bought into the program, and a warmth and appreciation I have never experienced in my working life before. I truly believe we have significantly accelerated the organisation to mobilise their alumni and have more social leaders Connected for Collective impact' Awesome!!!!

Hurrah, job done, but it was more than a job, it was an emotional journey, total immersion, and commitment with a higher purpose. For Tina, Paul and I we were fully invested and put all of ourselves into the challenge. We didnt know each other before this assignment, we came from different countries, different cultures, different skills and jobs, we left behind our homes and for Tina and Paul they left behind their partners and children, but what we had in common was SAP, a strong desire to help make a difference, and a shared belief that a quality education for everyone, no matter what your socio economic background, is key to a successful future for this planet.
